The Gallery

In 1977, the five-pointed star was replaced by the two-headed eagle, the symbol of Serbian Monarchy, on the Old Palace in Belgrade. The eagle was cast with brass and gilded with pure gold in the same way like the two big crowns which have been the decorations of the Old Palace since World War II. Sava, the artisan, gilded the crowns and his current followers expect to do it again during the forthcoming restoration of the Palace. The first gold leaf placed on this two-headed eagle is Sava, the artisan’s grandson Dimitrije.
